L'illustration de Rovina Cai pour la carte Heritage Druid, de l'édition Secret Lair 30th Anniversary Countdown Kit, représente les esprits de plusieurs elfes iconiques comme Elvish Piper, Deranged Hermit, Llanowar Elves, Elvish Visionary, Caller of the Claw, Farhaven Elf, Priest of Titania, Wellwisher, Tribal Forcemage, Wirewood Herald et Beastcaller Savant.
On peut même trouver un Elvish Archdruid, des Wood Elves et un Elves of Deep Shadow derrière la boîte de texte.

This one has some fun elements to it, so here's a 🧵 about it:

Since this Secret Lair was celebrating Magic's 30th anniversary, and this card has only ever had the one piece of artwork, I wanted to pay tribute to the original by Larry MacDougall. So I kept the composition and costuming details similar, as well as the idea of the elf spirits.

The tiny spirits are also homages to previous cards. I can't take credit for this idea; @Alexstoneart (who is a walking Magic encyclopedia) casually suggested it the day before the piece was due 🤦🏻‍♀️ But I loved the idea and so did my AD, so we ran with it.

*Obviously* I had to pay tribute to Rebecca Guay's Elvish Piper, maybe one of my favourite pieces of Magic art. But see if you can spot all the other ones too :)

I see an elves of deep shadow by Justin sweet, elvish visionary by D. Alexander Gregory , and I think a wellwisher by Christopher Rush? 😍

La carte Hullbreaker Horror représente de nouveau la créature Awoken Horror, transformation de Thing in the Ice.

L'illustration par Domenico Cava de la carte Consuming Aberration, de l'édition Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate, fait référence aux précédentes illustrations de cette carte. En effet, on y retrouve la forme plus "insectile" de l'aberration, en bas à gauche, ainsi que sa victime montant un escalier et portant une torche. Il semblerait donc qu'il y ait plus gros et plus dangereux dans les profondeurs des donjons...
Les cartes Finale of Revelation et Prison Realm représentent les derniers instants de Nicol Bolas. Après sa défaite sur le Plan Ravnica lors de guerre des Planeswalkers, il se retrouve seul avec Ugin qui lui révèle alors les raisons de sa défaite. Nicol Bolas est alors condamné à errer sur ce Plan, en présence d'Ugin, et sans plus aucun pouvoir.
Les cartes Planar Bridge et One with the Machine représentent la technologie de pont planaire volée par le planeswalker Tezzeret à l'inventrice Rashmi. Tezzeret l'a améliorée en portail, puis s'y est greffé afin d'y faire passer l'armée d'éternels de Nicol Bolas, entre les Plans Amonkhet et Ravnica.
